Your Official Home For Illinois Distance Running
Here is how the team distance rankings will work.
For each first place ranked runner the team gets 10 points.
From there it is one point down for each following, in the top 10.
After top 10, all other runners on the leader boards score
their respective teams a half of a point.
Relay scoring is the same as individuals.

Top 2 Distance teams
1. York- The most balanced team in the state. Their middle distances have
stepped it up early in the season with David Way and Pat Morgan
leading the way (no pun intended). York has the strongest and deepest 4x8
in the state and the second strongest 4x4. Jordan Hebert has posted 1
600 and 3200 times, and senior Steve Sulkin has posted times in the
800-3200 that are among the top in the state. Surprising many have b
een the sophmore class of York, with Jack Driggs running sub 9:45 for
the 3200 and 4:26 for the 1600. The Hedman twins have also shown great talent posting times of 4:34 and 4:37.
2. Neuqua Valley- After a disappointing cross country season,
Neuqua is on roll early into the track season. An early surprise for the Wildcats
is Aryan Avant. The middle distance specialist ran a 1:26 600, good enough
for 3rd in the state. As always, Neuqua Valley has solid 1600 and 3200 runners.
Danny Pawola ran a solo 9:15 in late February at the Proviso West Invite,
and teammate Brian Morenus was a surprise of the meet with a 9:32 3200.
Aaron Beattie was sick during that meet but also should compete
with the top distance guys in the state. Look for Senior Bryan Winek,
Junior Luke Verbus, and Sophmore Harsha Torke to step up as
the outdoor season begins. If these three can help step up, Nequa could
very well challenge York for the distance crown.
